Following an impactful career in the commercial interior design world, Lindsey Mathias opened her residential design firm in 2021, bringing her vision and talents into the homes of her clients.&nbsp; Lindsey takes pride in blending her technical and professional skills honed in the commercial design practice with her residential projects. Whether it be her level of detail, ability to work on complex projects, or creatively solve design challenges, Lindsey thrives in a team based, collaborative environment and values the talents of those around her. With a focus on architectural details and a partnership with the client, contractor and architect, Lindsey’s work is often a celebration of the site. She is known for curating bespoke interiors through her use of warm neutrals as a backdrop for layers of personality – whether it be through modern art, textures, light, or furnishings. Lindsey’s work employs clean lines, soothing palettes, and classic, cozy simplicity.&nbsp; She enjoys long-term relationships with clients who trust her intuition from design inception to installation. Prior to forming LMD, Lindsey worked for 17 years with other design firms including, global interior design firm Gensler where she had most recently served as a Design Director in their Dallas office. Earlier in her career, Lindsey also led design projects at Dallas-based SHM Architects. Trained and credentialed by the architecture school at the University of Texas in Austin, she holds a degree in Interior Design as well as her RID certification. She is a licensed Interior Designer.While not sketching or discovering the latest design inspiration, Lindsey enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband and two children, walking her Golden Retriever, Willie, and visiting harbor towns including Newport, Rhode Island. About Lindsey Mathias Design (LMD) and the role LMD is a specialized luxury interior design firm located in uptown Dallas, Texas. We are currently engaged in several long-term, high-end residential projects, and actively pursuing additional work. We are seeking an experienced Junior Interior Designer to join our team. The position requires the ability to work through all phases of a project and candidates should have exemplary design, technical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Responsibilities In collaboration with our principal and/or lead designer, the Junior Designer will help to drive the execution of design from conception through execution and to completion. The Junior Interior Designer will: Assist the lead designer in choosing and preparing visual materials for presentationsProvide support in field measures and oversightCoordinate and track sample requests, deliveries, and returnsPrepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting notes, proposals, purchase orders, budgets, and specifications Prepare and provide weekly status reports to the lead designer Coordinate with other office functions including sourcing materials and furnishings, and library organization Qualifications The candidate’s personal style and portfolio should be self-starting, engaging, and collaborative, and design effort should be thoughtful, align with the overall design aesthetic, and be extremely detail-oriented.
